Female genital cosmetic surgery

Female genital aesthetics is defined as the presence of harmony between its different anatomical components: labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, vaginal entrance and Mount of Venus.

Each of these structures can receive different treatments depending on how it is affected. Each vulva is different and we have to adapt to the anatomical peculiarities and the overall context of each patient. It is an area that needs to be individualized for each case.

Labia minora

Normally, when a patient comes to our clinic, they do so because they protrude excessively from the outside of the labia majora, causing hygiene problems, chafing when doing sports, and social discomfort when wearing tight clothing. In addition, they are often asymmetrical. The treatment consists of a surgical reduction of the labia minora, usually with local anesthesia. Is sensitivity lost or does it affect the lubrication of the intimate area? We can say that these types of complications practically do not appear with our technique. The first-choice intervention on our part is always to preserve a good portion of the labia minora in order to preserve precisely these functions. We also hide the area where the scar remains so that it does not cause chafing during sexual intercourse or sports.

Labia majora

The labia majora are one of the areas that are usually affected by sudden weight changes and, above all, by ageing itself. The fat that forms its cushions atrophies and the skin becomes sagging. The treatment that is usually performed is the injection of the patient's own fat to recover this lost volume and its elastic characteristics. If necessary, excess skin can also be removed. It can also be treated with hyaluronic acid to recover volume and hydration, although this is not a definitive treatment and should be repeated every year.

Vaginal entrance

After vaginal birth, the entrance to the vagina may be very wide and make sexual relations difficult, causing loss of sensitivity. The vaginal canal can be narrowed with a small operation. In cases of atrophy of the vaginal mucosa due to aging or menopause, it can also be treated with the injection of the patient's own fat to recover the lost volume and elastic characteristics. It can also be treated with hyaluronic acid to recover volume and hydration, although this is not a definitive treatment and should be repeated every year.

Mount of Venus

In this anatomical area we can have two opposite effects: excess fat, or fat atrophy and sagging. Excess fat is usually treated with liposuction. Fat atrophy and sagging skin usually appear in the same patients, since one leads to the other; the best way to treat it is by tightening the skin with a mini abdominoplasty (or if necessary, in the context of a full abdominoplasty). You can also inject your own fat or hyaluronic acid to recover the hydration and volume lost due to atrophy.

Clitoris

It is very common to have hypertrophy of the clitoris itself or of the skin hood that it has. As it is such a sensitive area, this generates discomfort when rubbing when, being too large, it protrudes excessively. That is why we always consider in each case performing a reduction or pexia of the clitoris and/or a reduction of its skin hood.
